The Ten Commandments

The Tablets of the Law are usually depicted as two columns with five commandments on each; the right-hand column lists the laws governing our relationship with G-d, the left-hand column contains the laws applying to relationships between people. In this simple etching, the artist imagines the Tablets as a single shield, an allusion, perhaps, to G-d’s protection of those who keep His Commandments.
