photographer in Jerusalem

Yaal was inspired by photography as a teenager, spending long nights in the darkroom. He studied courses at Camera Obscura, The Bezal’el Academy and Concordia University. He has acquired professional experience at various institutions of photography and art production (The Israel Museum, Panorama Professional Labs, Baruch Gallery NY, The Jerusalem Print Workshop). His photographic works have been exhibited throughout Israel and in Dublin, New York and Montreal and most favorably – in his clients’ homes.
Yaal’s studio/gallery is located at the Jerusalem Hutsot Hayotser Artist Colony, where he sometimes teach photography workshops and a weekly evening course in photography. He Is married to Betty and is the father of four boys and a girl.


Yaal uses Hasselblad medium format and technical cameras with Phase One 80Mp Digital back when ultra high resolution and separation and/or when focus and perspective control is needed, as well as Nikon cameras with prime lenses and flashes for general work. Most of the artwork in the gallery was captured using medium format film cameras.
